1. Hugo Le "Le Corbeau" Corbet - was born about 1020 in Pays De Caux,Normandy,France and died before 1086 .



Hugo - Cevalier of Pays de Caux, Normandy, flourished from 1040 and 1076, and was dead before the Domesday survey of 1086.
 
A noble Norman. Came over to England from Normandy with his sons, Roger and Robert, at the time of the Conquest. He was alive at least between 1040 and 1080. He had four sons, Hugh, Roger, Robert and Renaud.

2. Roger Fitz Corbet - was born about 1050 in Pays De Caux,Normandy,France and died about 1134 in Caus Castle,Shropshire,England . He was the son of Hugo Le "Le Corbeau" Corbet.



Roger - Domesday Baron of Cause, formerly Alretone, Shropshire, England, as it was called in Domesday, was born about 1050 to 1056, and died about 1134 as Pagan Fitz John, sheriff and governor of Shropshire, having succeeded Richard de Belmeis, held Cause in 1134, and would not have dared to take it during Roger's lifetime; the castle was destroyed by the Welsh attacking Pagan Fitz John. It had been one of the strongholds along the Welsh border between the rivers Dee and Wye. He married the heiress of Talsey.

William - second Baron of Caus, lived in Wattlesborough as the Castle of Cause was destroyed by the Welsh attack on Pagan Fitz John.

Simon - of Pontesburie, close to the Welsh frontier, and probably died before his father, William.

6. Sir Richard Corbet - was born about 1170 and died before 1255 . He was the son of Sir Richard Corbet.
Sir Richard married Joanna (Toret) Morton before 1196. Joanna was born about 1195 in Moreton Toret, Shropshire, England. She was the daughter of Bartholemew (Toret) dev Morton. She died before 1239 .

Joanna - coheir of Bartholomew Toret of Moreton Toret, Salop, who flourished in 1196-1229.

Sir Richard - settled at Moreton Toret following the marriage, and the name of the manor was changed to Moreton Corbet, by which name it is still known today.

7. Sir Thomas Corbet - was born in 1182 in Caus Castle,Shropshire,England and died Sep 1274 in Shrewsbury,Shropshire,England . He was the son of Sir Richard Corbet.
Sir Thomas married Isabel de Valletort. Isabel was born about 1191 in Caus Castle,Shropshire,England.

Peter married Alice Orreby. Alice was born about 1250. She is the daughter of Fulk de Orreby and Matilda le Strange.

8. Sir Richard Corbet - was born about 1200 in Moreton Corbet, Shropshire, England and died in 1255 . He was the son of Sir Richard Corbet and Joanna (Toret) Morton.
Sir Richard married Petronilla de Booley. Petronilla was born about 1216 in Booley, England. She died about 1272 .

Sir Richard - knight of Wattesborough, flourished 1225-1248, and was Lord of Morton at the Inquest of Bradfort Hundred taken in 1255. He married Petronilla, lady of Edge Baldenham and Booley, who was living in 1272, made a grant to Buildwas Abbey in 1223, succeeded his grandfather Bartholomew Toret, and was Jusiciar of Shropshire.

9. Sir Robert Corbet - was born about 1234 in Moreton Corbet, Stropshire, England and died in 1300 and was buried in Chapel at Alberbury . He was the son of Sir Richard Corbet and Petronilla de Booley.
Sir Robert married Mathilda de Arundel about 1280 in Moreton Corbet, Shropshire, England. Mathilda was born about 1244 in Besford, Tettenhall (Tideshall?), Staffordshire (Shropshire?), England. She was the daughter of John de Arundel. She died in 1309 .

Sir Robert - served as the Sheriff of Shropshire (1288-1289).

10. Thomas Corbet - was born about 1281 and died in 1310 . He was the son of Sir Robert Corbet and Mathilda de Arundel.
Thomas married Amice Hussey. She is the daughter of Ralph Hussey.

Sir Robert married Elizabeth Le Strange about 1329 while living in Shawbury, Shropshire, England. Elizabeth was born about 1308 in Shawbury, Shropshire, England. She is the daughter of Fulk Le Strange and Eleanor Giffard.

Sir Robert - was noted as lord of the Vill of Moreton Corbet in 1316, but had not been granted knighthood by 1326.

Sir Roger married Margaret de Erdington about 1363. She is the daughter of Giles de Erdington.

Sir Robert married Margaret about 1400.

Sir Robert - In 1415 Robert and Roger Corbet served in King Henry V's first expedition to France. Robert was Sheriff of Shropshire in from November 23, 1419 until he died.

Sir Roger married Elizabeth Hopton in 1450. Elizabeth was born about 1427, lived in Hopton Castle, Shropshire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas Hopton and Eleanor Lucy. She died on 22 Jun 1498 .

It is interesting to note that Roger Corbet who had married Elizabeth Hopton fought on the winning side, the Lancastrians. Family against family!! I believe Roger Corbet was beheaded in 1467. ( is this correct) Elizabeth died on 22 Jun 1498 in Austria or Hungary. Why she was in Austria or Hungary I don't know? She had been married three times though

Sir Richard married Elizabeth Devereux before 1478. She is the daughter of Sir Walter Devereux and Agnes Ferrers.

16. Sir Robert Corbet - was born in 1477 and died on 11 Apr 1513 and was buried in Moreton Corbet . He was the son of Sir Richard Corbet and Elizabeth Devereux.
Sir Robert married Elizabeth Vernon. She is the daughter of Sir Henry Vernon and Anne Talbot.

Elizabeth - survived her husband by fifty years and was called the "old Lady Corbet of Shawbury."

Dorothy married Sir Richard Mainwaring. He was the son of Sir John Mainwaring and Joan Lacon. He died on 30 Sep 1558 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, England .
